Capstone Overview
Each year, hundreds of engineering teams in the College of Engineering participate in senior capstone projects as part of the degree requirements for their major. Senior capstone projects provide students with opportunities to collaborate on team projects sponsored by industry, government agencies, and others and apply their knowledge and skills in developing innovative design solutions for real world problems. Capstone teams include 4-6 senior engineering students working on the project as part of a required senior capstone course. Capstone project deliverables may include conceptual designs, engineering analysis studies, hardware/software prototypes, and test data.
Maker Space
Students have access to the Fischer Engineering Design Center, a 60,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, which includes: a fabrication center (CNC, Mills, lathes, other), prototype center (various types of 3D printers, PCD board milling, reflow, surface mount soldering), a parts library, and access to experienced staff.
